Apple has expanded its parts and tools catalog to support self-service repairs for all Mac models using the M4 chip. Accordingly, users in the US and many European countries can now easily purchase genuine replacement parts for MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini equipped with the M4, M4 Pro, or M4 Max chip. This addition gives users more options in maintaining and repairing their devices without having to go to a service center.
Launched in 2022, Apple’s self-service repair program has given customers access to genuine parts, tools, and manuals to repair their devices themselves. Users can now purchase the same replacement parts used at the Apple Store Genius Bar or at Apple Authorized Service Providers. Apple has recently updated its repair guide for Mac models with M4 chips, which is now available on its official website.
Depending on the model, users can order a variety of replacement parts for M4 Mac models through Apple's self-service repair program. Available parts include displays, logic boards, speakers, trackpads, keyboard and battery enclosures, SSD storage modules, USB-C ports, cooling fans, Wi-Fi antennas, and many other important components. This allows users to be more proactive in repairing and maintaining their devices according to Apple standards.
In addition to parts for the M4 series Mac, Apple’s self-service repair shop also offers replacement parts for many iPhone models and Studio Display monitors. Notably, the program also supports battery replacements for Beats Pill speakers. Apple emphasizes that the self-service repair service is intended for experienced individuals who understand the complexities of repairing electronic devices. The company also recommends that users carefully review the repair manual, which includes important safety information, before proceeding.
