Morgan Rogers had a successful season with Aston Villa. |
Arsenal are seriously considering the possibility of signing Morgan Rogers, as Aston Villa are reportedly demanding a transfer fee exceeding €80 million for the English star. This information was revealed by journalist Ben Jacobs and quickly sparked much debate in the 2026 summer transfer market.
Following a breakout season with Aston Villa, Rogers became one of the most sought-after players in the Premier League. The 23-year-old scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions, playing a major role in helping Aston Villa end their long trophy drought by winning the Europa League in 2025/26.
In the Europa League final against Freiburg, Rogers continued to impress with a goal and an assist, earning him the UEFA "Player of the Season" award in the competition.
Rogers' impressive form has drawn particular attention from Arsenal. Manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly looking to add an attacking midfielder with speed, the ability to penetrate defenses and create chances in the final third of the pitch. Rogers almost perfectly fits those criteria.
However, the price tag of over 80 million euros is making Arsenal hesitant. The London club's management considers Rogers a great talent, but is still considering whether the player is truly worth the huge investment given that the club has many positions that need upgrading.
Aston Villa are under no pressure to sell Rogers. He still has a long-term contract and is considered a key player in manager Unai Emery's project after the club's most successful season in years.
