Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra takes on additional responsibilities.

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung signed Decision No. 967 to consolidate the membership of the National Steering Committee on the Development of the Vietnamese Pharmaceutical Industry for the period up to 2030, with a vision to 2045 (the Steering Committee).

Accordingly, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra serves as the Head of the Steering Committee, and Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan serves as the Deputy Head of the Steering Committee.

The Steering Committee members include: Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Tri Thuc (Permanent Member), Deputy Minister of Public Security Dang Hong Duc, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Truong Thanh Hoai, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Hoang Trung, and Director of the Drug Administration Department (Ministry of Health) Vu Tuan Cuong.

According to Decision No. 705 of the Prime Minister, the National Steering Committee for the Development of the Vietnamese Pharmaceutical Industry until 2030, with a vision to 2045, has the function of assisting the Prime Minister in researching, directing, and coordinating the resolution of important, inter-sectoral issues in the implementation of the National Strategy for the Development of the Vietnamese Pharmaceutical Industry until 2030, with a vision to 2045 (Strategy 1165) and the Program for the Development of the Domestic Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Herb Industry until 2030, with a vision to 2045 (Program 376).

The Steering Committee is tasked with researching and proposing to the Prime Minister directions and solutions to address important, inter-sectoral issues in order to achieve the goals set out in Strategy 1165 and Program 376.

Assisting the Prime Minister in directing and coordinating activities and tasks among ministries, sectors, and localities in implementing Strategy 1165 and Program 376. Monitoring ministries, sectors, and localities in implementing tasks under Strategy 1165 and Program 376; reviewing the content of important projects and programs for the development of the pharmaceutical industry.

The Steering Committee also needs to advise the Prime Minister on the preliminary and final reviews and assessments of the situation and results of implementing key tasks and solutions related to Strategy 1165 and Program 376. It should organize working groups to direct, supervise, and promote the implementation of Strategy 1165 and Program 376. It should also perform other tasks and powers assigned by the Prime Minister...

The Ministry of Health is the permanent agency of the Steering Committee, responsible for ensuring the operational conditions of the Steering Committee and utilizing the ministry's functional agencies and units to organize and implement the Steering Committee's tasks.
