Kia Vietnam recently posted a video on social media, revealing the launch date of a new model in early June. Although only the design of the LED taillights at the front and rear of the car is shown, users can easily guess that this could be a facelifted version of the Kia Sportage.
This is not surprising, considering that the most significantly updated mid-cycle refresh of the Kia Sportage was introduced almost two years ago (November 2024).
Therefore, now is the most opportune time for the South Korean automaker to introduce a new version of its C-segment SUV.
According to the leaked images, the new front end features a redesigned headlight cluster. The new LED lighting pattern is inspired by the styling of the manufacturer's electric SUVs in Western markets.

The large grille and Star Map headlight cluster are still present, quite similar to the 2026 Sportage that was recently launched globally.
The Kia facelift has almost completely redesigned the interior. The central screen and the connected digital instrument cluster are now rectangular instead of trapezoidal. The air vents on the passenger seat and the center console have also been completely redesigned.
In terms of engines, the new Sportage in Vietnam will likely be offered with a plug-in hybrid version, alongside the mild-hybrid and gasoline engine options similar to international markets.
The Sportage plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version features a 1.6L GDI turbocharged engine and a 72 kW electric motor, delivering a maximum output of 268 horsepower, paired with all-wheel drive (AWD). The hybrid (HEV) version combines a 1.6L turbo engine with a 47.7 kW electric motor, for a total output of 234 horsepower.

The price and engine power of the Sportage when it goes on sale in Vietnam are still unclear. Currently, Thaco is distributing the C-segment SUV in 3 versions, with prices ranging from 819 million to 1.009 billion VND .
