Following the score of the Vietnamese champion, winning 2 silver medals is athlete A. Hadi of Indonesia with the highest achievement of 166 kg and a total of 489 kg. 2 bronze medals in the men's 49 kg weightlifting event also belonged to Indonesia with the achievement of athlete Nur Irmansyah.
In the men's 54 kg weightlifting event, two runners-up Nguyen Binh An and Huynh Ngoc Phung excelled in first and second places, bringing home 2 gold and 2 silver medals for the Vietnamese delegation. In 3 times lifting weights, 2 athletes Nguyen Binh An and Huynh Ngoc Phung both chose to lift weights relatively different from competitors from Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Laos and Cambodia. Binh An and Ngoc Phung are also the only 2 races completed and scored for all 3 weightlifting rounds. With the highest lifting performance of 145 kg and a total of 429 kg, Nguyen Binh An won 2 gold medals in the 54 kg category, while Huynh Ngoc Phung brought home 2 silver medals with a push of 133 kg and a total of 392 kg.
Talking to the VNA reporter, athlete Le Van Cong expressed satisfaction with his competition results. After a period of injury treatment, thanks to his efforts in training and physical therapy, Le Van Cong is now 80% physically recovered. Today's results are a positive signal for this runner-up as he prepares for the world championships, Asian Games (ASIAD) and beyond, he hopes to regain his "lost" medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
Athlete Le Van Cong also wants to send encouragement to all his teammates preparing to compete that to always be confident, even though the circumstances of each person with disabilities are different, their will is extremely great and has been recognized by society.
