The Spanish strategist believes Aston Villa deserved the championship after their consistent and serious performance throughout the season.
"We had a very serious tournament and today the whole team continued to show that against Freiburg. The players played with great desire and the spirit that the fans instilled in the team was truly special," he said.
Coach Unai Emery also emphasized that Aston Villa is gradually returning to its rightful position as a team with a rich tradition in Europe.
“Aston Villa won the European Cup in 1982. This is a club with a rich history and many trophies. We have waited a long time for another trophy and today the whole team has achieved it,” he affirmed.
Winning the Europa League in 2025/2026 would not only help Aston Villa conclude a successful season but also provide further motivation for the team to aim for bigger goals in the future, especially after securing a place in the Champions League next season.
