Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), an Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) company, has officially opened registration for the third wave of the AWS Generative AI Accelerator (GAIA), an eight-week program for early-stage startups globally to help them scale their foundational generative AI technologies.
The AWS Generative AI Accelerator is an eight-week, hybrid program that includes alternating online sessions during the live kickoff at Amazon headquarters in Seattle and a program culminating at AWS re:Invent 2025. Startups developing large language models (LLMs), infrastructure tools, model-tuning platforms, or specialized platform agents are encouraged to apply.
Companies need to have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), initial user or market feedback, and a strong technical team. No prior AWS experience is required, but startups building on AWS will have a significant advantage thanks to direct support for system architecture and market access.
This year, 40 promising startups from around the world will be selected to participate in the program, which is scheduled to launch on October 13, 2025, at Amazon headquarters in Seattle. The registration period is from June 10 to July 10, 2025, and the list of selected startups will be announced on September 24, 2025.
The program aims to accelerate these teams through a support package of up to $1 million in AWS credits, technical guidance and expert mentorship, go-to-market support, and access to the AWS generative AI technology ecosystem.
“We are entering a phase where virtually every startup will be using generative AI in some form for their business. So with this year’s accelerator, we are focused on supporting startups that are developing the foundational technologies that will shape the future potential of AI,” said Jon Jones, Vice President and Global Head of Startups at AWS. “This year’s program is part of our ongoing commitment to fostering innovation in generative AI globally by providing disruptive startups with credit support, mentorship, and opportunities to scale with confidence.”
