Mud crabs are crustaceans that live in alluvial areas, most concentrated in mangrove forests or on the banks of fish ponds. Mud crabs are available year-round but are most abundant from July to September of the lunar calendar each year.

Salted mud crab is an indispensable delicacy at gatherings with friends and relatives, a valuable gift for loved ones near and far, and a product favored by visitors from all over.

Ca Mau has many salted mud crab production facilities, including Chau Sang Seafood Co., Ltd. (referred to as Chau Sang Company) in Hamlet 8, Rach Goc town, Ngoc Hien district. The company's products have a distinctive and indescribable flavor and have been certified as a 3-star OCOP product. The mud crabs here are processed using food safety procedures, with fresh mud crabs sourced from fishing boats, forest dwellers, and fish farms.

Thanks to its quality and reputation, Chau Sang Company's salted mud crab products are now available in both domestic and international markets. On average, the company supplies about 2-3 tons of salted mud crabs to the market each month.

Salted mud crabs are packaged in quantities from 1 to 5 kg, with prices ranging from 80,000 to 120,000 VND/kg. In addition to salted mud crabs, the company also sells fresh mud crabs, fresh mud crabs, raw shrimp, forest specialties, shrimp paste, and other seafood (shrimp, crab, square fish, etc.). In the future, the company plans to further expand its domestic and export markets.
