During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh held a special affection for his home province. He visited and worked with local officials and people many times. He visited Dinh Bang commune (now part of Tu Son ward), the birthplace of the Ly dynasty kings, four times (*). The first time was on September 13, 1945 (the 8th day of the 8th lunar month of the Year of the Rooster - the anniversary of the death of King Ly Thanh Tong, the third king of the Ly dynasty). At the Do Temple, he and the people commemorated the eight Ly dynasty kings and instructed the villagers: "Dinh Bang has a revolutionary tradition; it needs to be developed to be worthy of being a model revolutionary village."

The second time was on February 4, 1946, when Uncle Ho visited the communal house of Dinh Bang village, which had been chosen as the preliminary meeting place for the First National Assembly. On October 30, 1946, Uncle Ho visited Mr. Nguyen Phu Doan in Dinh Bang, and at the same time encouraged the elderly to actively participate in the resistance war and defend the country. The last time Uncle Ho visited Dinh Bang was on December 17, 1955, when he attended the land reform conference.
In Bac Giang province (formerly), in May 1946, Uncle Ho visited Phu Lang Thuong town (formerly Bac Giang city) to see the soldiers at the National Guard camp, Hoang Hoa Tham High School, the provincial hospital, and met with national salvation organizations, representatives of the elderly, youth, women, monks, and priests. He urged the people to actively engage in production, to value every inch of land as precious as gold, to learn to read and write, and to be ready to fight against foreign invaders.
During the resistance war against the French, the Phu Lang Thuong bridge (in the former Bac Giang city) was overturned into the river to halt the enemy's advance and secure the Northeast - Viet Bac region. After the victory in the resistance war against the French, the Phu Lang Thuong bridge was rebuilt. The construction involved soldiers from the South, workers recruited from Bac Giang, Bac Ninh , and some neighboring provinces, and notably, Chinese experts. On January 24, 1955, everyone was overjoyed when President Ho Chi Minh visited the Phu Lang Thuong bridge restoration site.
Later, in a letter to the people, cadres, and workers who contributed to the completion of the Hanoi - Muc Nam Quan railway line, President Ho Chi Minh affirmed and highly appreciated the contributions of the people: "These achievements were made possible thanks to the creative efforts of cadres and workers from the South and the North, the youth volunteers, and the people of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces..."
On October 17, 1963, President Ho Chi Minh attended the First Congress of the Party Committee of Ha Bac Province (a merger of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces). There, he pointed out: “Our province holds an important position economically, politically, and militarily... The people of our province are hardworking and have a tradition of heroism during the revolutionary and resistance years. Therefore, Ha Bac has a large population, vast land, and abundant resources, giving it the potential to become a prosperous and strong province.”
He emphasized the importance of unity and consensus: "Unity is strength, it is the key to success... Our Party is a leading Party, and all cadres and Party members, regardless of their positions or work, must be united and in agreement to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party"...

Despite his declining health, Uncle Ho still took the time to visit and speak with the people and officials of our province in Tam Son commune (now Tu Son ward) on February 9, 1967 (the first day of the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Goat). He praised Ha Bac's efforts in food production, fighting, and supporting the war effort... Finally, he emphasized the urgent tasks that the Party Committee and people of the province had to carry out. He instructed: "Cadres, Party members, and Youth Union members must truly unite, be exemplary, and respect democracy. They must use the spirit of decisive victory against the American invaders to boost the people's production and fighting movements"...
Bearing in mind President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in the province have made immense contributions to the two wars of resistance against French colonialism and American imperialism, achieving many resounding victories and receiving numerous prestigious medals from the Party and State. Many collectives and individuals have been awarded the titles of Hero of the Armed Forces and Hero of Labor.
Overcoming numerous post-war difficulties, our homeland is steadily advancing on the path of reform initiated and led by the Party. From a purely agricultural province, Bac Ninh has become one of the country's industrial centers, a shining example of national digital transformation and economic growth, and is striving to soon become a centrally-governed city.
Uncle Ho has passed away, but his guidance and teachings will forever shine brightly in the hearts of the people of all ethnic groups in our province, leading us into a new era.
