After a long break due to injury, striker Nguyen Cong Phuong finally returned to the Binh Phuoc FC squad. However, he was only registered to play and not a starter. This was partly why coach Huynh Quoc Anh's team didn't attack very impressively in the first 45 minutes.

Immediately, Luu Tu Nhan rushed in to take the rebound, causing defender Le Kha Duc to use his hand to block the shot as if playing volleyball. This not only resulted in a penalty for Ba Ria-Vung Tau FC but also cost them a player as Kha Duc received a direct red card. Subsequently, from 11 meters, Tu Nhan beat Nguyen Tan to give Binh Phuoc FC the lead.

With the advantage in both score and personnel, Binh Phuoc FC had a comfortable game for the remainder of the match. In the 73rd minute, the visitors scored their second goal after a nearly perfect attacking move, finished off by a simple tap-in by Le Thanh Binh. In the 85th minute, Nguyen Quoc Loc increased the lead to 3-0 with a close-range header.

With such a significant advantage, the three points were almost certainly going to slip from Binh Phuoc FC's grasp. Therefore, coach Huynh Quoc Anh didn't need to field his "ace" Cong Phuong, allowing the striker to rest further and regain his best physical condition.

In the final minutes, Ba Ria-Vung Tau FC also put in a strong effort, creating a few dangerous opportunities. However, goalkeeper Bui Tan Truong's net remained clean. Ultimately, Binh Phuoc FC won 3-0.

This victory not only ended Binh Phuoc FC's three-point drought after a recent loss (against Ninh Binh FC) and a draw (against PVF-CAND FC), but also gave Cong Phuong and his teammates an advantage in the race for a play-off spot for promotion. This is because in the previous match, PVF-CAND FC unexpectedly lost 0-2 to Ho Chi Minh City Youth team at home.

After the matches on March 8th, Binh Phuoc FC has 24 points after 11 games, 3 points ahead of PVF-CAND. The league leaders remain Ninh Binh FC, coached by Hoang Duc, with a perfect 30 points after 10 matches. At 3 PM on March 9th, Coach Nguyen Viet Thang's team will face Hue FC at Tu Do Stadium.
