At the invitation of the General Secretary and President of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith, the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, To Lam, will lead a high-level Vietnamese delegation on a state visit to Laos on February 5, 2026, to further develop the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic linkage between Vietnam and Laos, and Laos and Vietnam.
Following Laos' successful organization of the 12th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and after Vietnam and Laos upgraded their relationship to "great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic partnership," the General Secretary and President of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith, also paid a state visit to Vietnam.
General Secretary To Lam 's visit to Laos will create a breakthrough in cooperative relations between Vietnam and Laos, gradually realizing the "strategic engagement" agreed upon by the high-level leaders of the two countries.
