According to representatives of the Vietnam Record Organization (VietKings), the journey of searching for and promoting the unique values of Vietnam, especially its cuisine and specialties, has been undertaken by the organization for the past 13 years (from 2010 to the present), aiming to "Bring the essence of Vietnam in general and the essence of Vietnamese culinary specialties in particular to the world."
Based on the TOP culinary specialties of 63 provinces and cities in Vietnam announced in 2021-2022, along with nominations from localities nationwide, VietKings has continued to submit nomination dossiers to the Asian Record Organization for recognition.

No matter how many times they are dried in the sun or exposed to dew, the sweet potatoes retain their original delicate aroma and sweet, nutty flavor. Delicious chewy sweet potatoes are those that are dry but chewy like molasses, with a reddish-yellow color like honey and a taste like rock sugar. (Photo: Vietkings) |
Following a selection process, 10 nominees were announced by the Asian Records Organization, based on the Asian Culinary and Specialty Records criteria. This brings the total number of Vietnamese culinary and specialty gift items that have achieved Asian Records to 60 from 2012 to 2023, including 38 specialty dishes and 22 natural and local specialty gifts.
It is expected that the Asian Record Certificate will be awarded by the Asian Record Organization to VietKings at the 53rd Vietnam Record Holders' Gathering, scheduled to take place on January 6, 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City, or the locality may receive the record at an event organized by the locality.
