Also according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 a.m. on August 24, the storm center was at 17.5°N – 111.4°E, in the northwest sea of ​​Hoang Sa archipelago, about 620 km from Nghe An, about 600 km east of Ha Tinh . The strongest wind is level 12 (118–133 km/h), gusting to level 15. Moving west, speed about 20 km/h.

Forecast: 07:00 August 25: Storm at 18.3°N – 107.1°E, in the South of Bac Bo Gulf (~160 km from Nghe An , ~140 km from Ha Tinh). Intensity level 12–13, gust level 15, still has the potential to strengthen.

Danger zone: 16.0°N–20.0°N; 106.5°E–114.5°E.

Influence: Northwest East Sea (including Hoang Sa), Gulf of Tonkin, sea area South of Quang Tri - Hue (including Hon Ngu, Con Co).

Natural disaster risk: level 3 at sea, level 4 on the coast of Thanh Hoa - Quang Tri.

07:00 August 26: The storm moves West-Northwest at 15-20 km/h, entering Upper Laos, at 18.9°N – 103.3°E. The intensity decreases to level 6, gusting to level 8.

Danger zone: 16.0°N–20.0°N; west 108.5°E.

Impact: Gulf of Tonkin, sea area of ​​South Quang Tri - Hue (including Hon Ngu, Con Co). Natural disaster risk: level 3 at sea, level 4 at the coast of Thanh Hoa - Quang Tri and mainland from Thanh Hoa to North Quang Tri.

7:00 p.m. August 26: The storm continued to weaken into a tropical depression and then a low pressure area, at 19.2°N – 101.3°E (over mainland Upper Laos).

Warning of heavy rain in the Central region

Last night and this morning (August 24), the area from Quang Ngai to Lam Dong had heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms. The rainfall from 7:00 p.m. on August 23 to 8:00 a.m. on August 24 was over 100mm in some places, such as: Ngok Tu 1 (Quang Ngai): 142.4mm. Ia Grai 1 Hydropower Plant (Gia Lai): 108.2mm.

From Thanh Hoa to Northern Quang Tri: heavy to very heavy rain, common rainfall 150-300mm, locally over 500mm.

Thunderstorms may contain tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds.

Warning: On August 26, heavy rain will continue in the Northern Delta, South Phu Tho and from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang.

Northern Delta, Southern Phu Tho, Southern Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang: 30–50mm, locally over 80mm. Total rainfall from the night of August 24 to August 26: 100–150mm, locally over 250mm.

Thanh Hoa to Northern Quang Tri: 50–100mm, locally over 200mm. Total rainfall from the night of August 24 to August 26: 200–400mm, locally over 700mm.
