UAE newspaper reports: Vietnam U17 team has a great chance to qualify for the World Cup.

TPO - Aletihad website predicts that the UAE U17 team will not have an easy time when they face Vietnam U17 in the final match of Group C.

"Vietnam U17 must win against Yemen U17 and hope Yemen U17 loses to South Korea U17. It's not an easy task for us when facing Vietnam U17, who still have a greater chance of advancing to the next round and qualifying for the World Cup. A victory in the final match will ensure Vietnam U17 achieves that goal," Aletihad wrote.

The UAE newspaper continued: "The Vietnam U17 team will have great motivation to achieve a good result, to compensate for their heavy defeat against South Korea U17 in the previous match."

In Group C, South Korea U17 leads after two matches with 4 points. Vietnam U17 is in third place with 3 points. Yemen U17 also has 3 points but has a worse head-to-head record against Vietnam U17. UAE U17 is at the bottom of the table with one point, therefore having the least chance of qualifying for the World Cup in the group.

Heading into the final matchday, the UAE U17 team must beat Vietnam U17 to qualify for the first spot. They need Yemen U17 to lose to South Korea U17 to secure that qualification. If Yemen U17 draws and UAE U17 wins, both teams will have 4 points, with Yemen U17 advancing due to a better head-to-head record.

For the Vietnam U17 team, coach Roland's squad is guaranteed a World Cup spot if they beat the UAE U17 team. If they draw with the UAE U17 team, Vietnam U17 would have to wait for Yemen U17 to fail to beat South Korea U17.

The UAE U17 team lost 2-3 to Yemen U17 in their second match. Aletihad expressed disappointment with their team, claiming the UAE U17 players shot themselves in the foot and made the situation in Group C even more unpredictable. Before the 2026 AFC U17 Championship, Aletihad confidently predicted that the UAE U17 team had a great chance to secure one of the two World Cup spots in Group C. Now, they use the phrase "clinging to the dream of World Cup qualification" to describe their assessment before the match against Vietnam U17.
