According to initial information, on the evening of December 19, 2023, after getting drunk, Ho Tien Si had a conflict and fight with residents in Long Khanh B commune, Hong Ngu district. The incident was reported to the commune police by the residents.
Upon receiving the report, the Long Khánh B commune police assigned forces to coordinate with the commune militia to resolve the incident.
Upon arriving at the scene, Major Vo Van Tan directly met with Ho Tien Si to explain the situation and invite him to the station for questioning. At this point, Ho Tien Si refused to comply and instead grabbed a knife and a stick, chasing and attacking Major Vo Van Tan.
When the commune police reinforced their forces, Si continued to chase and resist law enforcement officers with knives and sticks. Subsequently, the police coordinated to bring Si to the commune police station for questioning.
At the investigative agency, Si admitted that all of his actions were due to being drunk and therefore unable to control himself.
The case is currently being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Agency of Hong Ngu District Police.
Regarding the act of resisting public officials, in November 2023, the Police Department of District 5 (Ho Chi Minh City) also issued a decision to prosecute and detain Nguyen Thanh Cuong (41 years old, residing in District 4) to investigate the act of "Resisting public officials".
Specifically, on the evening of November 8, 2023, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cuong was driving a motorbike with a passenger on An Duong Vuong Street (Ward 8, District 5).
When the Cho Lon Traffic Police team noticed that both of them showed signs of intoxication, they asked them to stop the vehicle for an administrative check and a breathalyzer test.
However, instead of cooperating, Mr. Cuong acted aggressively, shouting and chasing after an officer on duty; he also kicked over the officer's motorcycle.
Despite being restrained by many people nearby, the man was unable to remain calm and control his behavior.
After the police from Ward 8 dispatched officers to assist, the authorities conducted a breathalyzer test on Mr. Cuong, and the results showed that he violated the law with a reading of 0.711 mg/liter of breath.
The task force issued an administrative violation report against Mr. Cuong for the following offenses: driving a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 0.4 mg/liter of breath, driving without a driver's license, and driving without vehicle registration papers.
