Tran Vu Linh and Nguyen Minh Cuong did not have stable jobs and frequently used illegal drugs. To obtain money for living expenses and drug use, both committed theft of other people's property.

At approximately 4 PM on August 9th, Tran Vu Linh was driving a motorcycle carrying Nguyen Minh Cuong to the area between the houses of Mrs. BTTT and Mrs. LTHY in Hoa Tien hamlet, Thanh Loc commune, An Giang province.
Seeing that both houses were locked and unattended, Nguyen Minh Cuong stood outside keeping watch while Tran Vu Linh climbed over the fence, pried open a window, and broke into Mrs. BTTT's house, stealing two 100 USD bills.
Both men cut through windows and locks to break into Ms. LTHY's house, stealing property including over 400 million VND in cash, 2 bracelets, 1 necklace, and 1 piggy bank.
After committing the crime, the suspects hid in various locations to avoid being apprehended by law enforcement agencies.
Based on the investigation results and collected documents and evidence, the Criminal Police Department of the Provincial Police, in coordination with the police of Thanh Dong, Thanh Loc, and Giong Rieng communes and other professional units, implemented a comprehensive set of operational measures. By the evening of December 14th, the authorities had arrested Nguyen Minh Cuong and Tran Vu Linh while they were hiding in Giong Rieng commune.
Currently, the An Giang Provincial Police Investigation Agency is continuing to verify, investigate, and handle the suspect in accordance with the law.
