At 7:00 AM on January 7th, at the Department of Finance, all officials and employees were present and quickly settled into their workstations. The atmosphere was lively but serious, reflecting the spirit of the new year. Departments promptly reviewed work programs and plans, processed files and documents, ensuring timely progress and preventing any disruption to work after the long holiday.
Returning to her hometown in Thoai Son commune to celebrate Tet with her family, Ms. Dinh Ngoc Thanh Tuyen - Deputy Head of the Budget Management Department - returned to Rach Gia ward on the afternoon of the 6th day of the Lunar New Year. "After spending time with family, we immediately got back to work, ensuring the overall progress is not affected," Ms. Tuyen shared.

Right on the first morning of the new year, the Budget Management Department began reviewing key tasks for 2026. The unit continues to advise on the development of programs, plans, and strategies in the field of finance and budget, in accordance with legal regulations and local practices; focusing on budget balance; and advising on financial and budgetary management for provincial-level administrative agencies, public service units, and other units with state budget relations.
At the Department of Enterprises and Investment Cooperation, the Department of Finance, the atmosphere was one of urgent work. According to Nguyen Viet Trung, Head of the Department of Enterprises and Investment Cooperation, the unit had developed a specific plan to implement key tasks since the beginning of the year. These included focusing on advising on the An Giang province's collective economic development plan and the business registration fee scheme.
New momentum from the grassroots
At the People's Committee of Long Thanh commune, the first working day after the Tet holiday was filled with a cheerful and bustling atmosphere. Officials and civil servants were all present, exchanging New Year's greetings before quickly processing documents and resolving administrative procedures for the people.
Chairman of Long Thanh Commune People's Committee Huynh Van Thai Quynh urged each department to uphold a high sense of responsibility, be proactive, and be attentive to the people's needs, serving them wholeheartedly and effectively from the very first days and months of the new year. In the morning, the commune leaders visited rice fields at the Duong Go Lo Agricultural Cooperative; encouraging farmers to monitor pests and diseases, proactively manage water resources, and strive to achieve the highest possible yield and quality.

Around 7 a.m., at the Son Kien Commune Public Administrative Service Center, officials and civil servants were present to check the software system and equipment, ensuring smooth operation. Despite the large number of people coming to handle administrative procedures, all activities remained orderly and efficient. Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Dieu, residing in Vam Rang hamlet, who came to have her child's birth certificate certified, said: "Although I was worried about the crowds at the beginning of the year, I am very satisfied with the dedicated guidance and quick processing by the officials."
Early on the first working day after the Tet holiday, the People's Committee of Hon Dat commune organized a ceremony to offer incense at the Memorial Temple for Heroic Martyrs and visited the tomb of Hero of the People's Armed Forces Phan Thi Rang; at the same time, they held a spring meeting to assess the Tet celebrations in the area and implement key tasks for the coming period. The Secretary of the Party Committee of Hon Dat commune, Duong Minh Tam, requested that officials and civil servants quickly stabilize the organization, strictly adhere to schedules, and avoid any holiday travel or delays that could affect work progress; review tasks for 2026, develop specific plans for each quarter and month, and prioritize the immediate implementation of key and urgent tasks.
Dedicated to serving
In Phu Hoa and Oc Eo communes, the atmosphere at the beginning of the year was also bustling. From 6:45 AM, many people were waiting to complete procedures at the Phu Hoa Commune Public Administrative Service Center.
Mr. Dao Vinh Ninh, an officer in charge of agriculture and environment at the Phu Hoa Commune Public Administrative Service Center, shared: “This morning, about 20% more people came than usual. We were there before 7 a.m., ready to guide people to take numbers and wait for their names to be called.” Ms. Le Thanh Thuy, a resident of Phu Hoa commune, happily said: “I came to process my child's paperwork. I thought I would have to wait a long time on the first day of the year, but I didn't expect it to be done so quickly. The staff were very enthusiastic.”
In Oc Eo commune, many residents are satisfied with the professional and welcoming service of the officials and civil servants. The vigorous promotion of online public services and the digitization of documents continues to contribute to saving time and costs for the people.

In Cho Vam commune, the commune's Public Administrative Service Center received over 240 applications from citizens, organizations, and businesses this morning. All departments had staff on duty to guide and process procedures quickly and efficiently. Pham Hoang Vu, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee and Director of the Cho Vam Commune Public Administrative Service Center, said: “Before the Tet holiday, the commune instructed officials and civil servants to strictly adhere to working hours and maintain proper work ethics from the first day back; checking and operating the information technology system to ensure the best possible service for the needs of citizens and businesses.”
While having her signature authenticated on documents, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, a resident of Cho Vam commune, shared: “Although the Tet holiday has just ended, I find the working atmosphere at the Cho Vam Commune Public Administrative Service Center very bustling. I received attentive guidance from the staff, and my application was processed quickly.”
The first working day of the year at agencies and units throughout the province proceeded in an orderly and disciplined manner, without any delays or negligence. With a sense of responsibility and proactiveness from the very first hours, officials and employees across the province demonstrated their determination to successfully achieve the goals and tasks of 2026, contributing to the further development of An Giang .
