According to the Tan Dong Hiep Ward Police, at approximately 0:20 AM on June 12th, Ms. Hoang Thi Thuan (born in 1984) was at home in an alley off Cay Da Street, Tan Phu 1 neighborhood, when she heard a child crying outside her door.
Upon opening the door to check, Ms. Thuan discovered a newborn baby wrapped in a blue and white towel, placed inside a cardboard box.
Along with the baby was a handwritten note, believed to be from a relative. In the letter, the writer expressed: "The circumstances are so dire that I cannot raise the child. I respectfully request that whoever finds the baby take care of and raise her in my place."
This person also stated that the baby was born on June 6, 2026.
Moved by the child's plight, Ms. Thuan took the baby into her house, gave it milk, and, together with other residents, reported the incident to the Tan Dong Hiep ward police.
Immediately after receiving the information, the ward police coordinated to take the child to the Di An Regional Health Center for a health check. Initial examinations showed the child's health was stable, and the child is currently being cared for by doctors and nurses.
To protect the child's rights, the Tan Dong Hiep Ward Police are announcing a search for the child's biological parents or relatives and requesting that anyone with information related to the child's family or circumstances contact the police or the Culture and Social Affairs Department of Tan Dong Hiep Ward to cooperate in resolving the matter.
The Tan Dong Hiep Ward Police are coordinating with relevant agencies to complete the necessary procedures and ensure the best possible care for the child.
