Iran International, on June 25, citing architectural drawings received from a reliable source, reported that the underground bunker complex of the late Iranian supreme leader includes a bomb shelter and escape tunnels beneath central Tehran.
A security source has confirmed the authenticity of the document.
The underground complex, known as Habib Ebrahimi, after Khamenei's former driver, is located next to the leader's official residence. The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reportedly began construction in 2009 with the approval of Ali Khamenei. Funding for the project was provided by the construction agency of the IRGC's Khatam al-Anbiya Command.
According to the blueprints, the main entrance for vehicles allows cars to descend approximately 30 meters underground into the complex. This underground stronghold is believed to include a 27-meter-long tunnel connecting to various escape routes and a second tunnel supposedly leading to a parking lot near Enghelab Square in central Tehran.
In early March, the IDF targeted this underground bunker based on intelligence provided by the secret units 8200 and 9900. At the time, the IDF said 50 aircraft, with more than 100 types of munition, targeted the secret underground structure spread across several neighborhoods in central Tehran.

Iran International also noted that some images depicted a five-story underground office complex for high-ranking officials under the Supreme Leader's Office. This complex includes a three-story parking garage, a shooting range, and two bunkers located approximately 30 and 35 meters underground. One of these bunkers is bomb-proof, capable of protecting Khamenei from missile attacks. This underground facility is situated beneath a sports center.
This discovery contradicts public statements from former Iranian officials. Former Interior Minister Mostafa Pourmohammadi had previously stated that Ali Khamenei did not have an underground bunker. Meanwhile, Ezzatollah Zarghami, former radio chief and tourism minister, said that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei opposed the construction of a bunker for himself.
Ali Khamenei was killed in the opening attacks of Israel's Operation Lion. At the time of the attack, he was present at a permanent command complex.
