Provincial Party Secretary Do Trong Hung congratulates Archbishop Nguyen Chi Linh.

On the afternoon of August 5th, at the Thanh Hoa Bishop's Residence, Comrade Do Trong Hung, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and the provincial delegation had a cordial meeting and congratulated Archbishop Nguyen Chi Linh, Bishop of the Hue Diocese and former Bishop of the Thanh Hoa Diocese, on the 20th anniversary of his episcopal ordination.

Comrade Do Trong Hung, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and other provincial leaders presented flowers to congratulate Archbishop Nguyen Chi Linh.

Attending the meeting were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Pham Thi Thanh Thuy, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department and Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Van Hung, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department; Major General Tran Phu Ha, Director of the Provincial Police; Le Anh Xuan, Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Thanh Hoa City People's Council; and Dau Thanh Tung, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, Provincial Party Secretary Do Trong Hung expressed his pleasure in welcoming Archbishop Nguyen Chi Linh and other bishops, priests, and Catholic dignitaries from within and outside the diocese who have gathered in Thanh Hoa.

Extending his warmest greetings and best wishes to Archbishop Nguyen Chi Linh on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of his episcopal ordination, Provincial Party Secretary Do Trong Hung stated: Throughout his 12 years as Bishop of the Thanh Hoa diocese, Bishop Nguyen Chi Linh has not only made many contributions to the diocese, guiding priests, religious, and parishioners to live virtuous lives; but has also made significant contributions to the overall development of the province, especially in building and developing good relationships, understanding, and sharing between the Bishopric and the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front, and local organizations; building religious unity, thereby contributing to strengthening national unity.

Provincial Party Secretary Do Trong Hung expressed his delight that this good relationship has been maintained and developed to this day. In particular, in recent years, the Thanh Hoa Diocese, under the leadership of Bishop Nguyen Duc Cuong, has coordinated and collaborated with the province in implementing many programs and activities with profound humanitarian significance, especially the program to support the construction of housing for people living on the river, creating conditions for hundreds of families to have stable lives.

The Provincial Party Secretary wished Archbishop Nguyen Chi Linh and all bishops, priests, and Catholic dignitaries and officials good health and continued contributions to religious and secular affairs, serving the Fatherland and the people wholeheartedly.

Expressing his emotion at the heartfelt sentiments of the provincial leaders, Archbishop Nguyen Chi Linh stated: The years he served as Bishop of the Thanh Hoa diocese left him with many beautiful memories and warm feelings.

Archbishop Nguyen Chi Linh also expressed his joy at witnessing the remarkable changes and development of Thanh Hoa province upon his return, and the continuous improvement in the lives of the people, including the Catholic community. Archbishop Nguyen Chi Linh wished Thanh Hoa province continued success in achieving even greater accomplishments, worthy of its potential, advantages, and rich cultural and historical traditions.
