On the afternoon of April 21st, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa province, in coordination with Sam Son ward, held a press conference to provide information about the Sam Son Tourism Festival 2026.
The Sam Son Beach Tourism Festival 2026 is organized as the opening highlight for a series of cultural, sports, and tourism activities throughout the summer in Thanh Hoa, leading up to peak occasions such as Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, April 30th, and May 1st. With the theme "Sam Son - A Brilliant Aspiration," the event not only creates a vibrant and attractive atmosphere for tourists but also contributes to stimulating tourism and promoting local socio -economic development.

According to the plan, the opening ceremony will take place at 7:30 PM on April 25, 2026, at Sam Son Beach Square with a spectacular art program and a 15-minute low-altitude fireworks display.
This year's festival continues to affirm its role as the province's biggest tourism stimulus event of the year. Through a series of cultural, artistic, sports, and tourism activities, Sam Son is promoted as a destination rich in identity, friendly, and modern. Positive changes in urban infrastructure, service quality, and new tourism products are expected to provide a more complete experience for domestic and international tourists.
Sam Son's tourism industry aims to welcome over 9 million visitors in 2026, with total revenue estimated at approximately 19 trillion VND. This figure reflects the province's strong determination to make tourism a key economic sector, while also opening up opportunities to attract investment and effectively utilize available resources.
To prepare for the peak tourist season, several localities in Sam Son have proactively implemented a series of coordinated plans. Special attention has been paid to ensuring security and order, environmental hygiene, food safety, and rescue operations. A comprehensive system of signage, observation towers, designated swimming areas, mooring areas, and warning devices has been established to ensure maximum safety for tourists.
Simultaneously, the management of tourism service businesses has been tightened. Order management and rapid response teams have been established, and hotlines have been publicized to receive and promptly handle complaints. Harassment, persistent soliciting of tourists, and encroachment on roads and sidewalks are being resolutely addressed, aiming to build an image of civilized and professional tourism.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Trinh Tien Dung, Chairman of the Sam Son Ward People's Committee, said that in preparation for the opening ceremony, the locality had developed thorough plans regarding the environment and landscape, especially the area east of Ho Xuan Huong Street.
According to Mr. Dung, the local authorities have recently successfully auctioned off the rights to exploit assets belonging to the tourism space project east of Ho Xuan Huong road. These include Hubway facilities (beverage and bar businesses) and freshwater shower services along the beach, which were handed over by FLC Group.
“Currently, investors have begun renovating and upgrading the facilities in preparation for the opening ceremony and the peak summer season. We will coordinate to ensure that the facilities are ready for operation and to welcome visitors in the coming days,” Mr. Dung said.
In addition to preparations for the opening ceremony, this year's beach tourism activities in Sam Son also feature many innovations. The local authorities will resolutely remove unsightly street vendors' stalls. At the same time, the ward will reorganize business locations to create more jobs for local residents.
Sam Son Ward is also focusing on digital transformation during this year's tourist season. The local authorities have proactively contacted information technology companies to digitize historical sites and scenic spots to make them more accessible to tourists, while also encouraging cashless payments via Internet Banking.
Concluding the meeting, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Van Trung assessed that Thanh Hoa's tourism has seen positive development in recent years. In 2026, the province aims not only to increase the number of tourists but also to focus on improving quality, building brand recognition, and developing depth. Sam Son, in particular, is transforming from a summer beach destination into a modern coastal tourism city, a center for large-scale events and experiences in the North Central region. The Sam Son Tourism Festival in 2026 is a milestone clearly demonstrating this direction.
Besides the opening ceremony, the summer of 2026 in Sam Son will feature a series of attractive events such as: the Prayer for Blessings Festival, the beach marathon, the Thanh Hoa culinary festival, the Fishing Festival - boat racing, a pedestrian street cultural space, and a water music show at the beach square. These diverse activities promise to bring a vibrant festival atmosphere throughout the summer, meeting the entertainment and experiential needs of tourists.
With thorough and coordinated preparation, the Sam Son Tourism Festival 2026 is expected to create a strong boost for Thanh Hoa's tourism industry, while affirming Sam Son's position as one of the leading beach destinations in the northern region.
