Besides its lush greenery and abundant fruit throughout the year, the people of Binh Loc are also kind-hearted and deeply patriotic.
A land of unwavering loyalty
It is no coincidence that the former Binh Loc region was awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the State in 2012.
Mr. Thai Dinh Huong, former Party Secretary and former Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Loc commune (formerly), said: "The Binh Loc area was a fierce battlefield during the years of fighting the Americans, with place names that struck fear into the hearts of the enemy, such as Cua Heo, Binh Loc Bridge, Ba Gio, Cay Da... In particular, the Binh Loc commune militia company (awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces in 1976) not only organized battles to eliminate enemy forces, break enemy encroachments, and resist enemy raids and pacification efforts to occupy the base area, but also organized daring attacks on the inner city, such as the Ba The restaurant and the Dong Tam theater, which terrified the enemy."
According to the History of the Party Committee of Binh Loc Commune (1930-2015), the land of the former Binh Loc commune was home to many people and revolutionary fighters who bravely held their ground and fought to win independence and freedom for the nation. Among them were comrades such as Nguyen Thanh Danh, Nguyen Thanh Cong, Tran Van Hoc, Nguyen Van Thuan, Le Thi Luong… who heroically sacrificed their lives for the nation's ultimate victory. This is also where loyal Party members such as Bay Chau, Tran Van Tan (Nam Tan), Tran Tan Phat (Chin Phat) established the first Party branch of Binh Loc - Bao Vinh (in 1962). At the same time, this historical land always remembers the unwavering courage and indomitable spirit of guerrillas such as: Hero and martyr Le A; Tu Dong; Chau Thai Nguyen (Tu Nguyen); Pham Ngoc Luyen; Tran Tan Mot; Nguyen Van Huu; Bui Van Chuc… who were courageous, resourceful, and ready to fight the enemy anywhere. In addition, the former Binh Loc commune is proud to have 17 mothers who were posthumously awarded the title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother by the State.
After merging with Suoi Tre ward and Xuan Thien commune to implement a two-tiered local government (from July 1, 2025), Binh Loc commune was renamed Binh Loc ward. The ward currently has 47 mothers who have been awarded or posthumously honored with the title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother by the State. Among them, history and the homeland will forever remember the heroic deeds of mothers and sisters such as Nguyen Thi Sau (Mrs. Tam Nha Truong), Ha Thi Anh Dang, Nguyen Thi Doi (Tu Doi), Ho Thi Thu, Nguyen Thi Bong… These are examples of courageous women who spearheaded struggles, demonstrations, fighting the enemy, and military mobilization, selflessly contributing to the cause of national liberation.

A place of lush greenery and sweet fruits all year round.
Today, Binh Loc Ward not only bears the ancient footprints of prehistoric people (archaeological discoveries have revealed many sites and traces of prehistoric life. A series of archaeological sites have been discovered in the area, such as: Doi Xoai, Doi Mit, Tin Nghia, Lac Son, Gia Kiem, Dau Giay, Xuan Loc, Suoi Chon...). After the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975), many areas of what is now Binh Loc were still old-growth forests and barren land, attracting many waves of migrants from all over the country to settle there.
From a land that had just emerged from war, the government and people of localities such as Binh Loc commune, Suoi Tre ward, and Xuan Thien commune (now Binh Loc ward) have continuously built their homeland, competed in labor and production, and integrated into the global community.
According to Tran Minh Chau, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Loc Ward: During the process of building new rural areas, the infrastructure in the ward has been increasingly invested in and modernized. This has created favorable conditions for the locality and its people to develop the economy in the direction of trade, services, and tourism. Binh Loc Ward is continuing to implement urban development and upgrading programs to create breakthroughs in changing the local appearance, befitting its status as Dong Nai City.
Besides developing trade and services, small-scale industries, and manufacturing, Binh Loc ward has a total agricultural land area of nearly 5,000 hectares. In addition to rice and other crops, Binh Loc ward boasts over 3,000 hectares of fruit trees, including durian, jackfruit, mangosteen, rambutan, avocado, and pomelo, which are planned as concentrated, specialized growing areas in neighborhoods 3, 4, 5, Cay Da, Tin Nghia, and Xuan Thien. The fruits from Binh Loc ward are renowned for their delicious sweetness, not only favored by domestic consumers but also meeting export standards.
According to Hoang Duc Liem, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Binh Loc Ward: Currently, the ward has 10 eco-tourism garden destinations with 50 participating farming households, covering a total area of 60 hectares of fruit trees. This eco-tourism model attracts tens of thousands of visitors from within and outside the province each year, who come to visit, experience, and enjoy the fruit, especially on weekends, holidays, and during the summer. This model helps increase the value of the orchards by 1.5-2 times compared to income from purely agricultural production.
Currently, Binh Loc is encouraging and supporting farmers in maintaining and expanding the eco-tourism garden model in its neighborhoods. The focus is on applying scientific and technological advancements in production; mechanization in planting and crop care; establishing cooperatives using QR code scanning technology to showcase product origins; utilizing cashless payment applications; and implementing incentive programs for visitors who promote and advertise the locality on community information platforms.
Looking back at Binh Loc after its period of renewal and development, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Kham, former Secretary of the Party Committee of Binh Loc commune (1983-1992, residing in Ward 1, Binh Loc commune), expressed: This land was once a fierce battlefield, but now Binh Loc commune is prosperous; the difficulties, backwardness, and suffering of war have faded away. However, history has not forgotten the sons and daughters of Binh Loc who fell for the independence, freedom, and happiness of the people, so that their homeland could be peaceful, prosperous, and developed as it is today.
The organizational structure of Binh Loc ward's agencies is gradually being streamlined to ensure efficient and effective operation. Administrative reform is being accelerated, and the development of e-government to serve citizens and businesses is being strengthened. This is an important foundation for the Party Committee, government, military, and people of Binh Loc ward to confidently enter a new era of national development.
