At the meeting on May 10, 2024, after reviewing the submission of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the opinions of relevant agencies, the Politburo agreed to recognize comrade Pham Huu Lau, member of the Provisional Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam in 1930, on the list of exemplary senior leaders of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution.
The Party Central Committee Office conveyed the Politburo 's opinion on the above recognition in Official Dispatch No. 9862-CV/VPTW dated May 10, 2024 to the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Central Organizing Committee, the Central Propaganda Department and the Standing Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee for implementation.
Previously, the Central Propaganda Department responded to the opinion on Official Dispatch No. 9481-CV/VPTW of the Party Central Office regarding the related content. Specifically, the Central Propaganda Department believes that Comrade Pham Huu Lau has met the criteria of an exemplary senior leader, and agreed to propose adding him to the list of exemplary senior leaders of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution according to Conclusion No. 88-KL/TW dated February 18, 2014 of the Politburo .
This is good news and pride for the Party Committee and people of Dong Thap when comrade Pham Huu Lau - an outstanding son of Dong Thap homeland is named in the list of outstanding people.
Comrade Pham Huu Lau (1906 - 1959), was born in Hoa An village, An Tinh commune, Cao Lanh district, Sa Dec province (now Ward 4, Cao Lanh city, Dong Thap province) in a poor family, his father was a craftsman (painter), his mother was a farmer. Comrade Pham Huu Lau was one of the seven members of the Provisional Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, holding many important positions in the Party's leadership apparatus in Sa Dec, My Tho provinces, the Southern Administrative Resistance Committee and the Southern Public Security Department during the resistance war against French colonialism (1945-1954), then Deputy Secretary and then Secretary of the Southern Regional Party Committee in the early years of the resistance war against the US to save the country (1954-1959). His life and revolutionary career were extremely rich. During 30 years of continuous revolutionary activities from 1929 until his last breath on December 16, 1959, he made many great contributions to the Party and the Vietnamese revolution. |
