Ministry of Education and Training warns about incorrect information about university arrangement and merger
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry has been assigned by the Government to "develop a project to rearrange and reorganize the system of higher education institutions" and is coordinating with relevant agencies to research and evaluate the current situation before reporting the plan for the Government and Prime Minister to consider and decide.
However, the Ministry of Education and Training affirmed: "The information circulating about the plan to arrange and reorganize the university education system is currently incorrect and not provided by the Ministry. The Ministry recommends that people be vigilant and not spread this information."
Previously, at the Higher Education Conference, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son said that in the near future, higher education will enter a period of arrangement, merger, and streamlining. Accordingly, the facilities may be assigned to merge, not selected by the units.
Regarding how educational institutions will be arranged to reduce the number of focal points, the Minister said that non-public schools will handle it themselves, while public security and military educational institutions will follow the vertical management of their ministries and branches. Subtracting these numbers, there are currently a total of about 140 public universities.
In particular, schools that are close to each other in terms of fields will merge to overcome the situation of fragmentation and lack of development.
