Compared to the 10th grade local education materials of HCMC approved for use last year, this year's 11th grade materials are basically the same in some points, such as presentation format, illustrations, layout books, lesson design...
The document was compiled by a group of authors, including editor-in-chief Nguyen Bao Quoc, editor-in-chief Le Duy Tan and 8 other authors. The document is nearly 100 pages long, including 8 topics, built on basic issues of culture, history, geography, economy, society, environment, and career guidance of Ho Chi Minh City. These topics are continuous, expansive, and closer to social life than topics in 10th grade materials.
Accordingly, the document includes the following topics: Modern literature of Ho Chi Minh City (topic 1); Famous historical figures of Ho Chi Minh City (topic 2); Customs, customary law and legal education in Ho Chi Minh City (topic 3); Landscape of Ho Chi Minh City (topic 4); Ho Chi Minh City's trade (topic 5); Attracting investment for economic development in Ho Chi Minh City (topic 6); Impact of economic activities on the natural environment in Ho Chi Minh City (topic 7); Topic 8 is STEM Education and career orientation in Ho Chi Minh City.
Each topic is also designed with 4 activities: warm up, explore, practice and apply according to the policy of innovating teaching and learning methods.
Thus, this is the second consecutive year that teaching local education subjects at high schools in Ho Chi Minh City has to be postponed in the first semester and condensed in the second semester due to documents being issued late. This requires schools to be flexible in developing teaching plans to ensure completion of the subject program. Teachers also have to urgently invest time to prepare lesson plans to keep up with the school year's schedule.
