The message conveyed through the drawings.
At the "Children's Dreams" painting competition, the courtyard of Nguyen Tao Primary School (An Xuyen Ward) transformed into a colorful "art workshop," where 250 young artists freely expressed their creativity, conveying their love and pride for their school and their gratitude to their teachers through their drawings.
250 students from Nguyen Tao Primary School also participated in drawing "My Dream".
250 students participated, bringing 250 paintings conveying meaningful messages for their teachers, school, and family. “The painting I drew is about my school, with images of my teacher and friends. I want to send my best wishes to my teachers, wishing them happiness and good health. I will continue to study hard to repay their kindness,” shared Nguyen Hung Thien Hieu, a student in Class 3D, excitedly.
Joy spread as the students were able to express their gratitude to their teachers.
First-grade students were free to draw about their dreams.
The students excitedly showed off their achievements and dreams reflected in each painting.
Mr. Dam Quoc Huy, the teacher in charge of the Youth Union, shared: "The competition has become a traditional annual event, held 25 times. Besides regular classes, the school organizes extracurricular activities, creating a fun atmosphere and a competitive spirit among the classes. In particular, the students' drawings are displayed in the school's exhibition room for students to visit, further spreading the meaningful messages from these artworks. Each year, the competition recognizes more and more talents and creativity from the students, with diverse and meaningful content and forms of expression, bearing the mark of childhood."
Educational "Fun Learning with Doctors"
The grounds of Nguyen Van Troi Primary School (Tan Thanh Ward) became much more lively and bustling as over 500 students participated in the "Fun Learning with Doctors" program – exploring proper nutrition and personal hygiene. This school health counseling program was organized by Hoan My Minh Hai Hospital in collaboration with the school. Basic information on nutrition, personal hygiene, proper handwashing techniques, and age-appropriate team guessing games helped students improve their self-care awareness and develop healthy lifestyle habits from a young age.
Fun and informative questions based on basic general knowledge bring joy to students.
Participating in the game, Tran Ngoc Thai Uyen, a student in class 5A, confidently showed off her mastery of the correct handwashing steps. While describing the steps, Uyen instructed her classmates: “Especially the thumb and index finger are the fingers we use most in daily life, so you must wash them thoroughly. Today's lesson helps us understand that we must wash our hands thoroughly before eating, using the toilet, and when returning home from outside, which helps protect our health.”
Ho Lam Ngoc, a student in class 5A, excitedly shared that the program provided useful, important, and easy-to-remember knowledge essential for life, helping each student better protect their health. "Through this extracurricular activity, I remembered that I must eat a balanced diet of fruits and vegetables and practice good hygiene. At my age, this knowledge is very necessary, helping me to have good health and study better," Ngoc shared.
Students enthusiastically participated in the "Wash Your Hands Clean" game.
With a friendly, lively, and easy-to-understand teaching style, Dr. Nguyen Viet Thanh, Head of the Pediatrics Department at Hoan My Minh Hai Hospital, said: “To help children remember basic, age-appropriate knowledge, we need a teaching method that combines learning and playing, linked with relatable, visual, and lively questions. The content taught to students is fundamental knowledge that will stay with them throughout their lives. When lessons are based on real-life situations, it helps them apply what they learn to their lives and form good habits from a young age.”
Doctor Nguyen Viet Thanh both gave a presentation and answered students' questions about health issues.
Extracurricular activities not only help students relieve stress after intense school hours, but also provide an ideal environment to develop their talents, creativity, and skills. These diverse experiences will create a generation of well-rounded students, who are not only academically gifted but also emotionally rich.
