Strengthening community bonds and neighborly solidarity.

In Long Dien, the story of Mr. Hieu Hoang Linh's family (Khmer ethnic minority, Rach Ran hamlet) is a vivid testament to the aspiration for self-improvement. With an innovative mindset, Mr. Linh has succeeded with his high-tech whiteleg shrimp farming model, earning half a billion dong annually. But his greatest success is building a happy home with his wife, Ms. Tran Bao Tran, a capable woman of the Hoa ethnic minority.

Mr. Hieu Hoang Linh was awarded a certificate of commendation by the People's Committee of Long Dien commune for his outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement during the period 2020-2025.

Even more commendable, Mr. Linh is always willing to share his business methods with his neighbors. Mr. Linh shared: "Wealth isn't just about the amount in your bank account, but also about developing together with your neighbors. Helping someone escape poverty is something to be happy for. Before talking about national solidarity, strengthening neighborly bonds is the first step."

Nurturing the future generation.

Hung Hoi commune is known for its large Khmer population. There, a dedicated teacher of Hoa ethnicity has learned to read and write Khmer in order to impart knowledge. That teacher is Ms. Ma My Phuong, from Hoa Mi Kindergarten. Having taught for over 30 years, she has become a second mother to her students.

Born and raised in a multicultural community, Ms. Phuong understands the importance of preserving and promoting national cultural identity. Therefore, she has continuously strived to create a learning environment where children, especially Khmer children, can learn and develop comprehensively.

At Hoa Mi Kindergarten, there are no differences in language or ethnicity, only love. Ms. Phuong's use of the Khmer language in her teaching not only helps children become more confident but also honors and preserves the cultural identity of the ethnic group.

Doctor in a military uniform

At the Ca Mau Military-Civilian Hospital (Tan Thanh Ward), Major and Doctor Ly Nhat Nguyen (born in 1982) is a prime example of the studious spirit and dedication of a Khmer ethnic minority. The journey of this professional soldier is an inspiring story. From Bac Lieu Ethnic Boarding High School, he enlisted in the army, carrying with him the aspiration to serve his homeland with medical ethics.

With a spirit of continuous self-improvement, in 2023, he graduated with a Specialist Level I degree in Diagnostic Imaging. By the end of 2025, he will continue to complete advanced training in cardiovascular ultrasound at Can Tho Central General Hospital.

In a hospital that receives an average of 200 patients per day, the "telling images" created by Dr. Nguyen's hands and mind help to detect complex diseases in a timely manner, minimizing risks and giving thousands of patients a chance to live.

After completing his cardiovascular ultrasound training course, Major, Doctor Ly Nhat Nguyen was transferred from Bac Lieu Military-Civilian Hospital (Bac Lieu Ward) to Ca Mau Military-Civilian Hospital (Tan Thanh Ward).

For Doctor Nguyen, the white lab coat paired with the green military uniform holds sacred significance. He believes that ensuring the health of officers and soldiers is a crucial task to maintaining the defense of the Fatherland. At the same time, providing healthcare for the people is not only a professional responsibility but also an opportunity to strengthen the solidarity between the military and the people, especially with the ethnic minority communities in the locality.

"We always put the health of our patients first. Every case correctly diagnosed, every patient recovered, is the greatest happiness for a military doctor," Major Ly Nhat Nguyen shared.

With his shining medical ethics and expertise in the field of diagnostic imaging, Dr. Ly Nhat Nguyen is not only a source of pride for the Khmer people but also a crucial factor in building a stronger and more united healthcare system in Ca Mau.

The history of Ca Mau has proven that, whether amidst the flames of war or during the process of reform, the Kinh, Khmer, and Hoa ethnic groups have always stood shoulder to shoulder, wholeheartedly following the Party. This tradition is not only a source of pride but also a driving force for Ca Mau's breakthrough. Under the leadership of the Party, the combined strength from cultural diversity and the unity of the people will be the center of all resources, enabling Ca Mau to rise and develop.
