The 2024 US Open Table Tennis Tournament will take place from December 16th to 22nd in Las Vegas, Nevada. This marks the first time Vietnam has sent a team to participate in the tournament.
The delegation participating in the tournament was led by Mr. Tran Canh Tuan (Vice President of the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation). The coaches and athletes included: Huynh Ngoc Giau (Coach), Nguyen Anh Tu, Dinh Anh Hoang, Nguyen Duy Phong, Tran Mai Ngoc, Nguyen Hanh Ngan, Nguyen Nhu Quynh, Do Le Van Chi, Do Le Van Linh, and Huynh Ho Thien Thao (Athletes).
In addition, there are a number of athletes of other age groups from various localities who participate in the competition at their own expense.
Among the official Vietnamese table tennis athletes participating in the tournament are top players such as: Nguyen Anh Tu (2 SEA Games gold medals in men's doubles and men's team events in 2017 and 2019), Dinh Anh Hoang, Tran Mai Ngoc (SEA Games champion in mixed doubles in 2023), and promising young Vietnamese table tennis players.

Before heading to the US for the tournament, these athletes had just participated in the 2024 National Table Tennis Championships for Outstanding Players in Hai Duong. Nguyen Anh Tu was the men's singles champion, and Dinh Anh Hoang won the silver medal.
The entire cost of the trip was raised by the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation from social mobilization sources, primarily through sponsorship from Mr. Tran Canh Tuan.

This is the first time that top Vietnamese table tennis players have traveled to the United States to participate in a major tournament, alongside many of the world's leading players. The goal of the Vietnamese athletes is to gain experience and learn from competition.
The biggest goal for Vietnamese table tennis in the near future is to win a gold medal at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand. For the past four consecutive SEA Games, table tennis has met its target of winning a gold medal at each event.
Earlier in 2023, the Vietnamese table tennis team had its first training trip to the United States, also funded by philanthropists passionate about table tennis.
