Vietnamese women's volleyball team aims for the 33rd SEA Games Gold Medal

According to the Department of Sports and Physical Training, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will participate in many important tournaments in 2025. This is an opportunity to test the squad, aiming to complete a special goal at the 33rd SEA Games.

Sharing about the goal of aiming for the highest podium at the upcoming SEA Games, Mr. Le Tri Truong - General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation said: This is a difficult goal, when we attend the SEA Games in Thailand and have to compete fiercely with the host. However, the nature of high-performance sports is pressure and having to overcome yourself. If you do not set a goal, you will never overcome it and it will be difficult to achieve the desired results.

“The goal of winning the SEA Games gold medal is a big challenge, but it is also a motivation for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to strive for unprecedented achievements in history,” Mr. Le Tri Truong affirmed the determination of the Vietnamese sports industry.

The goal of winning the 33rd SEA Games gold medal for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is based on the excellent performance of this sport in recent regional competitions. Notably, under the leadership of coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has had a memorable journey, with impressive achievements in the 2022 - 2024 period. Not only continuing to affirm its leading position in regional volleyball with the Silver Medal at the 31st and 32nd SEA Games, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is also gradually realizing its ambition to conquer the continental and world arenas.

Vietnam women's volleyball team won the 2023 Asian Women's Club Championship (Vietnam), winning the right to represent Asia to participate in the 2023 Women's Club World Championship in China; won the 2023 AVC Challenger Asian Championship (Indonesia), representing Asia to compete at the FIVB Challenger (Laval, France); ranked fourth at the 2023 Asian Women's Championship (Thailand); Top 4 for the first time at the Asian Games (Asian Games 19, 2023); champion of the 2024 AVC Challenger Asian Championship (Philippines), continuing to represent Asia at the FIVB Challenger; ranked third at the FIVB Challenger, marking the first time achieving this achievement on the world stage; for the first time, qualified to participate in the world championship taking place in Phuket, Thailand (August 2025)... These are brilliant milestones marking each step of transformation, confidently heading towards the continental and world arenas of Vietnamese women's volleyball.

In addition to overseas training trips and participation in domestic and international tournaments to improve the professional quality, experience and competitive spirit of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, the next generation of youth players also receive special attention towards the long-term development of national volleyball.

In 2025, to prepare for new milestones at the world championship as well as towards the most important goal at the 33rd SEA Games, from April to September 2025, the whole team will train in phase I in Quang Ninh .

Specifically, from June 7 to 14, the team will participate in the AVC Nations Cup in Hanoi. From June 28 to July 5, the team will participate in the VTV Cup International Women's Volleyball Tournament in Vinh Phuc. From July 25 to 27, the team will participate in SEA V-League Week 1 in Ninh Binh.

From August 1 to 3, the team will participate in SEA V-League Week 2 in Thailand. From August 22 to September 7, Thanh Thuy and her teammates will participate in the world championship in Thailand.

From October to December, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will train in phase II at the National Sports Training Center. In December, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team will attend the 33rd SEA Games with the goal of winning the championship.
