Ong Cop Wooden Bridge: A rustic, enchanting structure of a poetic land

Ong Cop Bridge is a unique wooden bridge spanning the Binh Ba River, in the old Phu Yen province. With its rustic and simple appearance, the bridge has long been not only valuable as a transportation facility for local people but also an attractive destination for tourists.

The bridge is nearly 1km long across Binh Ba River.

The bridge plays an important role in the lives of local people, connecting the northern villages of An Ninh Tay commune, Tuy An district with the vital National Highway.

Ong Cop Bridge is considered one of the longest wooden bridges in Vietnam.

The bridge is about 1.5-1.8m wide, enough for two motorbikes to pass each other.

The special feature of the bridge lies in its rustic structure, with the bridge deck made from cajuput wood planks, and the railings made from old bamboo trunks.

At the head of the bridge there is a toll booth also made of wood.

The fee collected from people passing through the bridge will be used to renovate and repair the bridge when there is an incident.

The toll fee is considered reasonable by the people.

With its rustic, peaceful beauty, the bridge is also visited by many tourists to capture beautiful images.

Wooden planks are prepared at the bridgehead area for replacement and repair when the bridge has problems.
