In the early days of 2025, the Vietnamese national team achieved an emotional victory against host Thailand, winning the ASEAN Cup. At the youth level, the U23 Vietnamese team won the Southeast Asian U23 Championship for the third consecutive time, subsequently securing a ticket to the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.
The successful year concluded with the gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games for the Vietnam U22 team, after a spectacular comeback victory against Thailand U22 in the final.

According to the VFF's assessment, 2025 is considered a pivotal period, creating an important foundation for the Vietnamese national team to restructure its squad and prepare for the next development cycle.
Meanwhile, the Vietnam U22/U23 team continues to be a key focus of investment for the VFF in 2025. The team underwent seven training camps and international competitions, including high-quality friendly tournaments in China with the participation of top continental opponents such as U23 South Korea, Uzbekistan, and the host team China. This preparation helped the Vietnam U22/U23 team dominate the region with the Southeast Asian Championship title and the SEA Games 33 gold medal.
The success of the national teams in 2025 is vivid evidence of the effectiveness of the long-term, scientific , and in-depth preparation process that Vietnamese football has persistently implemented.

In addition, the men's and women's futsal teams, including the Vietnamese women's team, also left many marks in 2025. In particular, at the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnamese women's futsal team brought great pride to fans by winning the gold medal for the first time in history.
