On the morning of September 8th, Hanoi Police FC announced the signing of central defender Bui Hoang Viet Anh. He signed a three-year contract with the reigning V-League champions.
" The player born in 1999 will be associated with the Police team on a 3-year contract, with an option to extend for another 2 years and a salary of 70 million VND per month ," Hanoi Police Club announced.

The club stated that the aforementioned contract is one of the longest in their history. In Vietnam, it is rare for clubs and players to include extension clauses like in Bui Hoang Viet Anh's case. Hanoi Police FC also affirmed that the 24-year-old player's salary is only average.
Hanoi Police Club further stated that they want to develop Bui Hoang Viet Anh into a key player for the club, and also have plans for him to become a police officer.
" Signing a long-term contract is also part of a plan to help Bui Hoang Viet Anh train and study so that he can become a police officer after retiring from his football career."
"These are also the wishes of the family as well as the 24-year-old central defender himself. Therefore, the contract negotiations between the two sides proceeded quickly and smoothly ," Hanoi Police Club added.
In the 2023 V-League season, Viet Anh started 20 matches despite having to compete for a position with Duy Manh and Thanh Chung. Bui Hoang Viet Anh's final contract with Hanoi FC was valid until the end of the 2023/2024 season.
The capital city team began contract extension negotiations with this player at the end of the 2023 season. Hanoi FC wanted to keep Bui Hoang Viet Anh. However, the two sides were unable to reach an agreement on an extension.
Bui Hoang Viet Anh won the National Cup and V-League titles with Hanoi FC. During this time, the 1999-born central defender also performed outstandingly for the national team and the Vietnam U23 team.
