Trade union officials take the lead in emulation campaigns.

Trade union officials must not only be able to talk, but also be able to act, and do it well. That is why the Hanoi City Federation of Labor (Hanoi City Federation of Labor) has extensively implemented emulation movements in general, and the "Good People, Good Deeds" emulation movement in particular. These emulation activities are practical and closely linked to the task of protecting and caring for the rights and interests of workers.

PV: For officials, civil servants, and employees at all levels of the city's trade unions, what are the new aspects of the 2024 emulation campaign to achieve the highest effectiveness, sir?

Mr. Le Dinh Hung: 2024 is a year of many important political events for the capital and the country. These events have provided rich "material," setting goals and driving forces to promote patriotic emulation movements. Based on the theme of the year's work of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, which is "Focusing on implementing the resolutions of the Trade Union Congress at all levels; competing to achieve accomplishments to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union," and the theme of the year of Hanoi City, which is "Discipline, responsibility, action, creativity, and development," the Hanoi City Trade Union has launched emulation movements focusing on the following contents: "Excellent Labor," "Creative Labor," "Excellent Consulting, Good Service," etc. The goals and contents of the emulation are specific, practical, linked to the tasks of each department and unit, and linked to raising the responsibility of each individual in performing their duties. In particular, the "Good People, Good Deeds" movement has been enthusiastically embraced by a large number of cadres, civil servants, and workers, thereby improving the quality of the emulation movement in general.

Could you tell us how the effectiveness of trade union officials' work has improved as a result of that emulation movement?

- Officials, employees, and workers at all levels of the Hanoi Trade Union have actively responded to the emulation movements launched by the Hanoi City Federation of Labor and registered to strive for titles such as: Advanced Worker, Emulation Fighter; Good Person, Good Deed; Excellent in National Affairs, Competent in Family Affairs... Through the emulation movement, many exemplary individuals have emerged, demonstrating self-reliance, leveraging internal strengths, determination, and creativity. The results of the emulation movement are clearly reflected in the work performance of each group of departments, agencies, units, and enterprises.

In 2024, trade unions at all levels in Hanoi had more than 100 individuals recognized as "Good People, Good Deeds" at the grassroots level; 26 individuals were selected by departments and units and nominated to the Hanoi City Federation of Labor's Emulation and Commendation Council for recognition as "Good People, Good Deeds" in 2024.

To further improve the quality of the emulation movement, what solutions will the Hanoi City Federation of Labor implement in the upcoming year 2025, sir?

- 2025 is the year of the Party Congresses at all levels leading up to the 14th National Congress of the Party. The Hanoi City Federation of Labor will build and implement focused and targeted emulation movements. First and foremost, it will focus on doing a good job of propaganda and raising awareness about the significance of emulation movements, especially the "Good People, Good Deeds" movement, to celebrate major national and Hanoi holidays and anniversaries, as well as the Party Congresses at all levels and the 14th National Congress of the Party; paying attention to emulation activities that promote innovation, improve discipline, labor productivity, and work efficiency.

To effectively accomplish the above tasks, the Hanoi City Federation of Labor will call upon and encourage officials, civil servants, and workers to actively promote initiatives and creativity, and make many good proposals to continue innovating management and administration, improving the quality of the "Excellent Worker" and "Good People, Good Deeds" emulation movements; encourage officials, civil servants, and workers at all levels of the Trade Union to always train, cultivate, and actively study to improve their professional skills and expertise to meet the requirements of their tasks; and at the same time call upon and encourage each official, civil servant, and worker to take practical and concrete actions to effectively implement the policy of saving and combating waste, contributing to caring for the material and spiritual lives and improving the lives of officials, civil servants, and workers in the Capital.

In addition, the City Federation of Labor Unions will strengthen guidance, supervision, inspection, and evaluation to promote emulation movements, especially the "Good People, Good Deeds" emulation movement; organize the preliminary and final reviews of emulation movements effectively, promptly commend, reward, and encourage collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements, and replicate advanced models, exemplary cases, and examples of "Good People, Good Deeds" in each agency and trade union unit.
