Having just finished rebuilding after storm No. 5, Cau market in Tien Dien commune, Ha Tinh province continued to be "crushed" by the destructive power of storm No. 10. After the storm, returning to the market, many traders burst into tears when witnessing the scene of devastation and desolation.

Cau Market is one of the oldest markets in Xuan Yen commune (old), now Tien Dien commune, Ha Tinh province. Previously, the market was spontaneous, mainly small traders selling and trading fresh seafood and essential goods to serve the people in the area.

Since 2016, in order to implement the conversion of the market management model in the area, the Board of Conversion of the old Nghi Xuan district market management model has organized a bidding for the management, business and exploitation of Cau market. Up to now, Cau market is a class III market under the Market Development Plan until 2023 integrated in the planning of Ha Tinh province. Infrastructure and criteria according to the requirements of the food business market in Decision 2420/QD-UBND dated November 30, 2022 of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province.

Within just one month, Cau market suffered the devastation of two consecutive storms.

At the same time, this business location was also included in the list by the People's Committee of Nghi Xuan district (old) and in fact, it has implemented investment, construction, renovation and upgrading of rural markets for communes in the market planning to ensure meeting the standards according to regulations to reach the standards of New Rural District. Cau Market is one of 7 markets invested in and newly built.

Since 2017, Cau market with nearly 100 kiosks serving the local business and trading needs has been put into stable and spacious operation, contributing to bringing Nghi Xuan district (old) to the New Rural finish line soon.

Many small traders burst into tears when they suffered double natural disasters, both damaging their homes and losing their only source of livelihood.

However, according to traders, storm No. 5 in early September 2025 severely affected Tien Dien commune, including Cau market. Storm No. 5 caused dozens of business kiosks to have their roofs blown off and many walls to collapse. Traders had to spend hundreds of millions of dong to repair and restore business activities.

Just after a short while of stabilization, storm No. 10 continued to rage, "crushing" Cau market into ruins and desolation overnight.

To support small traders, on September 30 and October 1, Tien Dien Commune Police mobilized dozens of officers and soldiers to Cau Market to help people clean up the rubble and overcome the consequences of the storm.

Tien Dien Commune authorities said they are focusing on providing maximum support in terms of human resources and funding to help traders rebuild Cau market for the second time in just the past month.
