TPO - The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has just proposed building two dams on the Red River to raise the water level, thereby helping to limit pollution on the Nhue and Day rivers. Currently, the Nhue River is seriously polluted.

Nhue River is a small branch of the Red River, starting from Lien Mac sluice, Bac Tu Liem district, ending at Phu Ly, Ha Nam province.

According to the monitoring results announced by the General Department of Environment, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment , in 2020, Nhue - Day River has the worst water quality among the five river basins in the North. Of the 185 monitoring points of the five basins, 15 are polluted, of which Nhue - Day River accounts for 13 points. The two points of Cau To (Thanh Tri district) and Cu Da (Thanh Oai district) are the most polluted.

The Nhue River flows through Hanoi for 62 km, passing through the districts of Bac Tu Liem, Nam Tu Liem, Ha Dong and the districts of Thanh Tri, Thanh Oai, Thuong Tin, Phu Xuyen, and Ung Hoa.

The Nhue River water flowing through Thuong Tin district is pitch black.

On the banks of the Nhue River, the section flowing through Thuong Tin district, household waste is collected and flows into the river.

Similarly, the Nhue River flowing through Phu Dien ward, Bac Tu Liem district has black water and a foul smell.

The Nhue River section through Thuong Tin district is currently under construction as part of the Ring Road 4 - Capital Region project.

Along both banks of the Nhue River, through Phu Dien ward, Bac Tu Liem district, many places are where household waste is collected.

Due to polluted river water and garbage, the Phu Dien 1 and Phu Dien 2 residential areas are always hot spots for dengue fever.

People said that no matter what measures the government takes to solve the pollution of Nhue and Day rivers, they will support it.
