Recently, the "service" of creating fake citizen identification cards (CCCD) has become widespread across social media. Below are three important details provided by the Ho Chi Minh City Police to help people distinguish between real and fake CCCD cards.

Policy - Distinguishing between genuine and fake Citizen Identification Cards to avoid fraud: Pay attention to 3 details

- Differences in the colors of the national emblem

With a genuine Citizen Identification Card (CCCD), the national emblem is printed on the surface with even, clear, and vibrant colors. With a counterfeit CCCD, the printing of the national emblem, and the colors in general, vary in intensity and clarity.

- Differences in electronic chips

There are also many differences between the electronic chips on genuine and counterfeit ID cards. On genuine ID cards, the electronic chip is made of gold-colored metal and directly attached to the card. For counterfeit ID cards, the chip is either printed directly onto the card with poor quality or a chip taken from a phone SIM card is attached to the card.

- Differences in signatures and stamps on the card

On a genuine Citizen Identification Card (CCCD), the signature and seal are printed clearly, with vibrant and consistent colors. In contrast, counterfeit CCCDs have blurry, indistinct signatures and seals, with some areas having mixed and uneven colors.

According to the law, the act of forging, using, or buying and selling counterfeit identity cards is punishable by a fine of up to 6 million VND and other additional penalties and remedial measures. Therefore, the police urge citizens to be aware and not participate in any groups or engage in such illegal activities; immediately report to the nearest police station any organization or individual exhibiting signs or behaviors related to forging, using, or buying and selling counterfeit identity cards.
