On June 2nd, the Can Tho City Youth Union organized the launching ceremony for the 2024 Can Tho Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, aiming to continue the practical community benefits from previous campaigns.

This campaign also aims to promote the pioneering and voluntary role of Can Tho youth in participating in socio -economic development, ensuring social welfare, building new rural areas and civilized urban areas, and contributing to national security and defense.

Alongside the launch ceremony was the launching ceremony to respond to World Environment Day (June 5) and the Children's Day for Environmental Protection in 2024.

Mr. Duong Tan Hien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, said that in recent years, the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign has become a highlight of the city's youth, attracting a large number of union members and young people to participate and contribute their youthful energy to the development of the country and solve difficulties for localities and units.

The establishment and launch of 10 specialized teams for the campaign will contribute to strengthening and enhancing the effectiveness of social welfare activities throughout the city.

The campaign's basic objectives include building at least 12 new civilized streets (roads, alleys) with the criteria of "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful - Civilized - Safe"; building at least 15 charitable houses, houses of compassion, and Red Scarf houses; and planting at least 95,000 new trees.

Support the implementation and realization of 380 ideas and initiatives from youth union members; support the enhancement of digital skills for at least 40,000 young people and citizens.
