Angler catches a massive white sturgeon weighing 317kg.

A giant white sturgeon, measuring 3.1 meters long and weighing 317 kilograms, has just been pulled from the Fraser River. Experts estimate that this "elderly fish" has lived for over a century.

River Monster Adventures, the company organizing the fishing trip, said the giant white sturgeon has been nicknamed "Ghost" because it has been sighted for 15 years but no one has ever caught it.

A 3.1-meter-long, 317-kilogram white sturgeon was caught by anglers on the Fraser River, south of Lillooet (Canada) on July 7th.

River Monster Adventures said the fish, dubbed "Ghost," was tagged. The monster is estimated to be between 120 and 140 years old.

Jeff Grimolfson, owner of River Monster Adventures, told Global News that catching "Ghost" was exciting and thrilling.

"I was really nervous. I thought, 'Oh my God, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,'" Grimolfson shared his feelings about catching the 317 kg white sturgeon.

Mr. Grimolfson said he had dreamed of this moment his whole life. He has spent nearly 20 years leading fishing expeditions.

"We're very fortunate that everything has gone smoothly. We have a fantastic team, a group of lads from Alberta – and yes, they're fantastic," Grimolfson added.
