Most cases are mild and are detected at healthcare facilities. However, the increase in the number of cases in a short period of time is a warning sign, especially given the new variant's tendency to spread rapidly in some localities across the country.
Currently, the provincial health sector is actively monitoring the epidemiological situation, reviewing and proactively developing appropriate plans for patient admission and treatment in line with the new circumstances. At the same time, it is stepping up efforts to disseminate information about disease prevention measures at educational institutions, markets, bus stations, and areas with large crowds.
Dr. Duong Anh Dung, Head of the Department of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control at the Provincial Center for Disease Control, advises: People should proactively wear masks when going to public places and medical facilities; maintain personal hygiene, wash hands frequently with soap or disinfectant; if they experience symptoms such as fever, cough, or sore throat, they should limit contact and go immediately to a medical facility for timely advice, monitoring, and treatment.
Although COVID-19 is no longer classified as a Group A infectious disease, the emergence of new variants and its rapid spread mean people should not be complacent. Maintaining proactive and flexible disease prevention and control measures remains key to protecting public health in the current period.
