According to journalist Nguyen Thu Ha, Head of the Science and Education Special Programs Department of VTV, in recent times, a series of scams involving fake branded messages, impersonating police officers, creating "ghost" investment applications, or using deepfake AI technology have caused thousands of victims nationwide to lose hundreds of billions of dong.

“24/7 Vigilance” inherits the spirit of the familiar “Cautionary Tales” radio program, but is upgraded with a more direct and up-to-date, multi-platform television version. The program acts as an “information shield,” promptly warning about new scams, providing in-depth analysis with cybersecurity and psychology experts, and equipping people with self-protection skills in the digital society.
The program will air at 8 PM every Saturday on VTV2, starting from October 4th. Each 20-minute episode of "24/7 Vigilance" is produced in a modern investigative documentary format, recreating real cases, dissecting each tactic, and analyzing the psychology of both criminals and victims.
The goal of this program is to ensure that viewers are not left alone in the face of high-tech crime. It aims to prevent warnings from going unnoticed, instead transforming them into a "digital immunity" system for the community. It seeks to ensure that the law remains on paper, directly impacting every home, every phone, and every financial decision made by each individual.
Journalist Trinh Quoc Dong, Deputy Head of the Special Programs and Education Department of VTV, affirmed: "A mistaken text message can cost money, but a moment of vigilance can save an entire fortune. 'Vigilance 24/7' is not just a warning, but also a social action, where television, banks, and the police cooperate to create a collective shield, protecting the peace of every Vietnamese family."
Under the guidance of People's Artist Trong Trinh, "24/7 Vigilance" promises to become a practical security guide, helping each citizen equip themselves with a "digital immune system," contributing to maintaining financial security and trust for the community.
In particular, the program uses vivid illustrations, making legal knowledge easy to understand and apply, especially for those who are often targeted by scammers, such as the elderly and children. The program also has a hotline where viewers can provide information, report incidents, and interact across VTV's various digital platforms.
