The Coast Guard Region 3 Command said that during patrolling, checking and controlling at sea, ship 276 (belonging to the Region Command) rescued a fisherman bitten by a sea snake while fishing.
Specifically, at 9:20 a.m. on September 19, ship 276 received a distress signal from fishing boat KG 91423 TS captained by Mr. Tran Thanh Long (residing in Hon Dat, An Giang province).
Mr. Long informed that on the boat, fisherman Le Van Tri (residing in My Phu Dong commune, An Giang province) was bitten by a sea snake while fishing, and his health began to deteriorate.
Immediately after receiving the information, ship 276 quickly maneuvered to approach the fishing boat's location and deployed a boat to bring the Medical Team to rescue the fishermen.
Through examination, the patient was in a state of mild agitation, high blood pressure, rapid pulse, pain and swelling in the arm bitten by the sea snake.
The medical team quickly bandaged the wound, administered IV fluids, pain relief, anti-inflammatory drugs, and lowered blood pressure for the victim.
After first aid, the fisherman's health was temporarily stable but still had many potential risks, so the doctor on board ship 276 requested the fishing boat to urgently bring the snake-bitten fisherman ashore for further intensive treatment./.
