Coast Guard accompanies fishermen in Ha Tinh

On July 17, in Dan Hai commune (Ha Tinh province), the Coast Guard Region 1 Command organized the program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen", implemented by Squadron 102 and the Law Department in coordination with the Party Committee and People's Committee of Dan Hai commune.

The program aims to promote propaganda and dissemination of laws on seas and islands, the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard, the Law on Fisheries, regulations on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, preventing drug crimes and maintaining security, order and safety at sea.

Thereby, helping people raise legal awareness, promote civic responsibility, build awareness of sustainable and legal seafood exploitation, contributing to the whole country's efforts to remove the "yellow card" IUU of the European Commission (EC).

Representatives of Squadron 102 and local leaders presented gifts to policy families and poor households.

Within the framework of the program, the Command of Coast Guard Region 1 presented 70 gifts (each gift includes gifts and money worth 1 million VND) to policy families, poor households, near-poor households and students with difficult circumstances who have overcome difficulties to study well in the commune.

At the same time, the unit organized the distribution of leaflets, legal documents, presented national flags and life jackets to fishermen at Xuan Hoi fishing port and visited, encouraged and gave gifts directly to two typical policy families in Dan Hai commune.
