The four extreme points of Vietnam have always been popular destinations for tourists to explore. After the merger, the administrative boundaries of these four extreme points have changed.

On the morning of June 12, 2025, at its 9th session, the 15th National Assembly voted to approve a resolution on the reorganization of provincial-level administrative units in 2025. From 63 provinces and cities, the administrative map was reorganized into 34 provincial-level administrative units (including 28 provinces and 6 cities).

Accordingly, the boundaries, natural area, and scale of each province and city have changed. The four extreme points (East, West, South, and North) have also undergone changes in administrative boundary information.

Northernmost point

The northernmost point (coordinates: 23°22'59"N 105°20'20"E) is a must-see destination for visitors to the Dong Van Karst Plateau. After the merger with Tuyen Quang , the information for the northernmost point was changed to Lung Cu commune, Tuyen Quang province .

Westernmost point

The westernmost point of Vietnam lies at the tri-border junction between Vietnam, China, and Laos, where a rooster's crow can be heard in all three countries. This westernmost point is famous for the kilometer zero marker atop A Pa Chai peak in Muong Nha district, Dien Bien province.

After the merger, the westernmost point has a new address: Sin Thau commune, Dien Bien province.

Far East

The easternmost point, also known as the first place to witness the sunrise on the mainland of Vietnam, is located on the Hon Gom peninsula, Dai Lan commune, Khanh Hoa province.

Southernmost point

The southernmost point of Vietnam is located in Dat Mui commune, Ca Mau province. This is the southernmost point on the mainland of our country's territory.

Besides its important geographical location, the southernmost point is also a destination for tourists on their journey to conquer the four extreme points on the mainland of the country, as well as when visiting Ca Mau.
