Students of Cam Gia Secondary School received gifts from students of Ngoi Sao Hoang Mai Primary - Secondary - High School, Hanoi . |
During a class of 6th graders at a school in Hoan Kiem ward, Hanoi, there was a little girl from Thai Nguyen who was worried about the flood that was destroying her hometown. Her grandparents and relatives were all in the flood zone. Her mother updated the situation every day and she was also very worried along with her mother's stress.
On October 9, the teachers who taught in class shared the flood situation in Thai Nguyen and told the students about the hardships of the people in the flooded areas, especially when they learned that there was a student in the class from Thai Nguyen.
During the Geography class, the teacher explained to the students in detail from a professional perspective about the damage suffered by people in the flood-affected areas. Suddenly, a male student's voice rang out:
- There have to endure!
The boys at the same table said:
- Yes! You have to endure it there!
The voice was small, but enough for the whole class to hear.
The teacher stopped teaching.
The whole class was silent.
The little girl from Thai Nguyen burst into tears!
The whole class thought to themselves: This time the other group will definitely be reminded by the teacher!
The teacher said sternly:
- Whoever said that, stand up!
The whole class was tense. Dozens of eyes turned towards the group of friends who had just spoken.
1 friend, 2 friends, then 4 friends stood up.
The teacher paused for a moment, suppressing her emotions. Then, the whole class was surprised when she said:
- I ask 4 of you, divided into 2 groups, to prepare a presentation for me. Group 1: The situation of storms and floods and the damage in Thai Nguyen. Group 2: The efforts of the people and local authorities of Thai Nguyen province in overcoming the consequences of floods and the joint efforts of the people of the whole country to help and support. Tomorrow morning, at the beginning of the hour, the groups will present, please note that there will be illustrative images.
If you can't do it yourself, you can ask your parents for help. I will listen to the presentations of the two groups with the homeroom teacher. If you don't have a presentation, your ethics and professional points will be 0. Now, you guys focus on the lesson.
The whole class listened to her lecture in silence. The little girl from Thai Nguyen stopped crying.
The very next morning, the homeroom teacher came to attend the class presentation. The two groups of four boys had prepared quite carefully for the presentation. Many images were shown, some of devastation, some of pain, some of warmth. The groups finished their presentations. Their voices trembled and sank as if they were about to cry. One student, representing the group, expressed:
- I'm sorry, we were wrong.
- Sorry, we were wrong.
The teacher said:
- You were wrong. But now you know how to admit your mistakes. I won't blame you anymore. But you must remember: The spirit of compatriotism is extremely sacred to Vietnamese people and don't hurt others, even if it's just a joke!
The little girl from Thai Nguyen also stood up and said:
- I thank you and my friends for sharing with me and the people of Thai Nguyen. Please don't blame them anymore. They just said it out of turn, I know they didn't mean anything. I am very touched to receive so much love from my friends and the whole class. I really hope to invite you and my friends to visit my hometown Thai Nguyen one day.
That is the story of a little girl from Thai Nguyen. When she told the story, she cried. This time, not because she felt sorry for herself, but because she was touched. I also shed tears because I was moved and admired the humane way the teachers handled the pedagogical situation.
And, I knew that, even when the flood water in Thai Nguyen had not yet receded, teachers and many students, the Department of Education and Training of Hanoi City had donated many items to support the Department of Education and Training of Thai Nguyen Province. I was moved to tears because in the long procession of vehicles going to Thai Nguyen to support, there were also notebooks full of love from the 4 students who had just presented above.
