Many people like to eat meat every day.

Is meat healthy?

Associate Professor Rosemary Trout, Drexel University (USA), said meat is an excellent source of protein with all essential amino acids and nutrients such as vitamin B12, iron and zinc, according to Yahoo News.

Animal protein in meat is absorbed and assimilated more efficiently than vegetable protein.

In addition to protein and nutrients, meat also contains fat and cholesterol.

However, consuming too much fat can cause weight gain, metabolic disorders, and affect blood triglyceride and cholesterol levels.

Additionally, some meats, like bacon and cold cuts, contain ingredients like salt, sugar, nitrates, or added fats, which may not be good for daily consumption.

The healthiness of meat varies depending on the level of processing. Processed meat is less healthy than fresh meat.

In addition to meat, meals should include fiber and micronutrients.

Is it okay to eat meat every day?

According to the US Dietary Guidelines, a person should consume about 750 grams of meat and eggs per week.

If you eat the recommended portion of meat, combined with nutrient-rich foods to ensure a healthy diet, eating meat every day can be "acceptable," said award-winning US nutritionist Lauren Manaker.

If you choose fresh or minimally processed meat and cook it yourself, you can absolutely eat meat every day, says Trout.

In addition to diet, Manaker recommends limiting highly processed meats. Meals should also include fiber and micronutrients, according to Yahoo News.
