In the early hours of May 4th, Arsenal lost 1-2 to Bournemouth at home in the 35th round of the Premier League. Arsenal's ambitions of finishing second were severely shaken as they are now only 3 points ahead of Man City.

In this match, Odegaard received a lot of criticism for his underwhelming performance. He only completed 20 out of 27 passes, his lowest number in a single match this season.

Some Arsenal fans are calling for Odegaard to be dropped from the starting lineup for the crucial Champions League second leg against PSG at the Parc des Princes next week. Some even demand that the Norwegian international be stripped of the captaincy due to his lackluster performance.

Mark Lawrenson, who won five Championship titles and one Champions League with Liverpool in the 1980s, also publicly criticized Odegaard. He analyzed: "He should be stripped of the captaincy so he can focus on his performance on the pitch. We all know Martin is a good player, but he had a season that was a 6/10."

Mark Lawrenson believes manager Mikel Arteta should consider making Declan Rice Arsenal captain. "Rice used to be captain at West Ham. I would give him the captain's armband as a way to help Odegaard bounce back," the former Liverpool legend added.

Arsenal must quickly regroup before their trip to PSG next week. In the first leg, the Gunners lost 0-1 at Emirates.

Goals in the Arsenal vs. Palace draw: In the early hours of April 24th, Arsenal drew 2-2 with Crystal Palace in the 34th round of the Premier League.
