The Vietnamese national team got off to a smooth start in their training camp in South Korea, defeating Ulsan Citizen 2-0 in a friendly match on November 27th. Goals from Tien Linh and Tuan Hai helped coach Kim Sang-sik's team secure a victory against their opponent, who plays in the third division of the Korean league (K-League 3).
At 12 noon tomorrow (November 29th), the Vietnamese national team will face their second challenge against Daegu FC. Compared to Ulsan Citizen, Daegu FC is much stronger. This team regularly participates in K-League 1 and previously played in the AFC Champions League 2023-2024.
The Vietnamese national team is preparing for its second match in South Korea.
Although Daegu FC had an unsuccessful season last year, finishing second to last (having to play in the play-offs to secure their place in K-League 1), they are still a team with considerable strength and experience.
Today, Daegu FC will face Asan in the first leg of the play-off at 5 PM (the second leg will take place on December 1st). Therefore, it's possible that Coach Park Chang-hyeon's team won't field their strongest lineup against Vietnam at 12 PM tomorrow. However, a team like Daegu FC, currently fighting to stay in K-League 1, will still be an interesting opponent for Coach Kim Sang-sik's Vietnamese national team.
At this point, every match is an opportunity for Daegu FC to maintain focus and refine their tactics for the play-off series.
The Vietnamese national team is maintaining a training schedule of two sessions per day during their training camp in South Korea. In the mornings, coach Kim Sang-sik has his players do gym workouts or strength training to improve their endurance and power. In the afternoons, the players are divided into two teams for practice matches.
