NDO - The Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund not only helps ethnic minority students, children of fishermen and officers and soldiers in coastal and island areas, but also supports the development of a young, knowledgeable and capable workforce for disadvantaged regions. After 25 years of operation, the Fund has made a positive contribution to the cause of education , affirming its profound humanitarian values and continuing to develop practical projects to create opportunities for students to thrive in life.

The Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund was established on March 5, 1999, by a decision of the Central Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, at the initiative of the Thieu Nien Tien Phong (Pioneer Youth) Newspaper. The fund is named after the young national hero Vu A Dinh and is chaired by Ms. Truong My Hoa, former Vice President of Vietnam.

The Fund operates with the goal of caring for and supporting ethnic minority students in remote areas, children of fishermen in coastal and island regions, and children of military personnel serving in the defense of the country's seas and islands. It aims to support these students in completing their studies, developing skills, and contributing to the training of young, knowledgeable, and capable human resources for the mountainous, border, and coastal areas of the country. The Fund's objectives have been recognized by Party and State leaders as not only sustainable but also possessing profound humanitarian value.

Over the past 25 years, the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund has persistently and diligently worked to attract benefactors and mobilize social resources to create opportunities for ethnic minority and island students to complete their studies, while also working with the State to care for and train the future generation.

From its initial simple activity of awarding annual scholarships, the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund has mobilized additional organizations and individuals enthusiastic about education to provide practical support to students, contributing to the training of young human resources for the locality, through 5 projects: "Nurturing the Future", "Giving Wings to Dreams", "Opening the Path to the Future", "Supporting Students", and "Lighting Up the Future".

In addition, the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund established the "For Our Beloved Hoang Sa-Truong Sa" Club with the aim of caring for and supporting children of fishermen in coastal areas and children of law enforcement personnel serving in the islands. The project has carried out activities such as awarding regular scholarships and scholarships for in-depth training, building charitable houses, constructing schools, and organizing programs to express gratitude to fishermen and soldiers who are protecting the sacred airspace and seas of the Fatherland.

The Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund's activities have effectively supported ethnic minority and island students, helping their families alleviate economic burdens so they can better care for their children's education, enabling them to develop themselves, change their lives, and potentially help their families in the future. Furthermore, it contributes to human resource training in remote areas, gradually bridging the development gap between regions.

The Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund's management board shared that during the implementation of its activities, the project team encountered numerous difficulties in organizing resources to care for the students. However, the Fund always strives to overcome these challenges to ensure the successful implementation of the projects by strengthening communication, mobilization, and resource exploitation to encourage social sharing and empathy for the humanitarian goals of the projects. Furthermore, the Fund closely monitors the project's progress through the academic achievements and successes of the students. The growth and development of the project beneficiaries is a driving force for organizations and benefactors to continue supporting and promoting the Fund's projects.

And from the "common home" of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, engineers, doctors, teachers, diplomats, and others have grown and spread to villages and ventured out into the wider world.

With clear and well-directed goals and criteria, the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund has consistently built a reputation for reliability, consensus, and trust among its partners. It has expanded its operational models, increasing the number of scholarships awarded annually to just a few hundred students to 8,000. A model of in-depth investment projects has been established, benefiting nearly 1,700 ethnic minority and island students; dozens of schools, school branches, and bridges have been built, along with hundreds of policy-beneficiary and veteran-supported housing units.

The Fund's Executive Board stated that, in the future, with the country's development and the trend of international integration, the issue of training a generation of young people with knowledge and strong political acumen, meeting the standards of global citizens, will receive increasing attention. The Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund affirms its commitment to working with the education sector to equip eligible students with in-depth knowledge and appropriate life skills, helping them develop the right attitude towards life and professional work methods to contribute to building the nation in the "era of national progress."
