ChatGPT experienced a problem causing widespread disruption globally.

Over 600 complaints were submitted in India by 3 PM local time, while the UK and the US recorded over 1,000 complaints and nearly 500 reports respectively, indicating widespread disruption to ChatGPT.

OpenAI's popular AI chatbot, ChatGPT, has experienced a widespread outage, affecting users worldwide.

Reports of service disruptions began around 7:00 GMT, or approximately 2:00 PM on June 10th (Vietnam time), and quickly spread, affecting thousands of users from countries including the US, UK, India, and Vietnam, who experienced difficulties accessing the platform.

According to the outage tracking website Down Detector, over 600 complaints had been submitted in India by 3 PM local time, while the UK and the US recorded over 1,000 complaints and nearly 500 reports respectively, indicating widespread disruption to ChatGPT.

Users attempting to interact with ChatGPT have received error messages such as “A network error has occurred. Please check your connection and try again. If this issue persists, please contact us through our help center at help.openai.com.”

The outage also affected other OpenAI services, including Sora—the company's text-to- video creation tool—as well as other AI APIs.

OpenAI acknowledged the issue on its official status page, stating: “Some users are experiencing errors and high latency on services. We are investigating.” The company noted that the outage lasted for approximately two hours.

This isn't the first time ChatGPT has experienced issues. The tool was previously down in early April 2025 due to a sudden surge in demand for the Ghibli image creation feature, overloading the system and causing problems.
