The average trading volume in July reached 59.5 million shares/session, a decrease of 25.1% compared to the previous month, corresponding to an average trading value of VND 1,270 billion/session, a decrease of 21% compared to the previous month. Of this, trading in the HNX30 group of stocks accounted for a total trading volume of over 822 million shares, corresponding to a trading value of over VND 20.8 trillion, representing 60% of the total trading volume and 71.3% of the total trading value of the entire market.
In terms of liquidity, SHS shares of Saigon - Hanoi Securities Joint Stock Company continued to be the stock with the largest trading volume on the HNX in July 2024, accounting for 13% of the total market trading volume, equivalent to over 185 million shares traded. Following closely behind was CEO shares of CEO Group Joint Stock Company, accounting for 6.6%, equivalent to over 94 million shares traded.
Regarding trading prices, the strongest increase was seen in ATS shares of ATS Investment Group JSC, with the closing price at the end of July increasing by 60.77% (equivalent to VND 7,900/share), reaching VND 20,900/share compared to the end of the previous month; second was INC shares of IDICO Investment Consulting JSC with an increase of 43.63% (equivalent to VND 11,300/share), reaching VND 37,200/share. Following that was DHT shares of Ha Tay Pharmaceutical JSC with an increase of 35.24% (equivalent to VND 18,500/share), reaching VND 71,000/share; and then SDC shares of Song Da Consulting JSC with an increase of 29.17% (equivalent to VND 2,100/share), reaching VND 9,300/share.
Notably, after five consecutive months of net buying, foreign investors were net sellers in July 2024, with a net selling value of over VND 110.3 billion, including purchases of VND 1,465 billion and sales of over VND 1,575 billion. The stock most heavily bought by foreign investors was PVS of Vietnam Petroleum Technical Services Corporation, with a trading volume of over 8.1 million shares, accounting for 18.13%; followed by PVI of PVI Corporation, with a trading volume of over 5.4 million shares, accounting for 17% of the total foreign investor purchases. On the selling side, PVI shares of PVI Corporation were the most actively sold by foreign investors, with a trading volume of over 7.6 million shares, accounting for 16% of the total volume sold by foreign investors. This was followed by IDC shares of IDICO Corporation, with a trading volume of over 4.5 million shares, representing 9% of the total volume sold by foreign investors.
Proprietary trading of listed stocks on the HNX by member securities companies in July 2024 had a trading value of over VND 295 billion (accounting for 1% of the total market), a decrease of 6.9% compared to the previous month, with this group making net purchases worth over VND 39 billion.
In July 2024, one company delisted its shares due to business restructuring. As of the end of July 2024, the HNX listed market had 313 listed stocks with a total listed value of nearly VND 155.6 trillion. Market capitalization at the end of the month reached over VND 327 trillion, a decrease of 0.9% compared to the end of the previous month.
